The log roller's waltz - a NAIT vignette

Get fit in a very old-fashioned way

Once, log rolling was how the forestry industry moved logs from cut sites to pulp and paper mills. It took balance, core strength, agility, speed and nerves. Today, it's a unique way to get fit and have fun, and it takes the same kind of stuff to pull it off.

Here, Industrial Heavy Equipment Technology students Daniel Inkpen and Brian Janssens, president and VP finance of the NAIT log rolling club (respectively), show how its done. Students can join them every Thursday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 in the NAIT pool. Staff and the public are welcome to use the log at other times if there's space available in the pool.
